Fundamentally forbearing by Grant Harbison

There are things in life that I can tolerate

Like waiting for people who are consistently late

The noise of traffic that keeps me from slumber

People who phone me and they've dialled the wrong number

Power cuts and groping in the dark

Hip hop music and a dog’s incessant bark

Vociferous drunks and tedious bores

Getting home without a key and finding locked doors

Hunting for socks for two of the same

When my team loses but they've played a great game

Being woken up with a terrible fright

When a cat attacks my foot in the middle of the night

Howling winds and traffic jams

Messages on my phone that are money scams

But that drip-dripping of the drain

Is driving me utterly insane
